Building US Northeast’s Ag Robotics Ecosystem
“US Northeast’s agricultural sector is at a pivotal moment, facing increasing pressure from labor shortages, rising production costs, and the need for greater sustainability and productivity. Agricultural robotics and automation offer significant opportunities to address these challenges—but successful deployment requires a strong, coordinated ecosystem.
This roundtable will bring together key stakeholders from across Northeast’s ag robotics landscape, including growers, technology providers, researchers, investors, and public institutions. The discussion will provide an overview of the current ecosystem, identify priority automation needs across major value chains, and explore the main technical, economic, and regulatory barriers to adoption. Particular attention will be given to gaps in infrastructure, workforce development, funding, and field validation.
By fostering dialogue between industry and institutional actors, the session aims to clarify shared priorities and identify actionable pathways to accelerate innovation, adoption, and long-term competitiveness for Pennsylvania agriculture.”
