Agricultural Robotics in the Occitanie Region: A Roadmap

In 2026, the Occitanie Region reaffirms its ambition: to become the European reference region in agricultural robotics, at the service of a more sustainable, more resilient and more competitive agriculture. This vision is based on strong regional mobilization and the structuring of a sector that is now clearly organized. Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation, as the regional coordinator of the agricultural robotics sector, will present during this presentation the progress of the roadmap and the ongoing collective dynamics. The intervention will also be shared with the pilots of several strategic axes, allowing to illustrate concretely the actions carried out and to come.

The presentation will focus on the five major priorities that guide the development of the sector:
Structuring and strengthening the sector, by consolidating synergies between public actors, companies, research centers and farmers, to support a robust technological and industrial offer.
Develop skills and training to support the rise of autonomous technologies and meet new needs in technical and digital expertise.
Multiply experimentation and demonstration projects, thanks to real-life test devices allowing the evaluation of the maturity, efficiency and transferability of robotic solutions. Accelerate the diffusion of autonomous technologies in farms, based on field demonstrations, feedback and sharing of good practices.
Analyze the social, economic and environmental impacts to ensure a responsible, sustainable and ethical agricultural transition.
