The New Holland R4 Series is an autonomous robot platform designed for vineyards, orchards and specialty crops. Developed by CNH engineering teams in Modena and Coëx, the R4 automates repetitive, labour‑intensive tasks such as mowing, tillage and spraying, helping growers address labour shortages and sustainability demands. Guided by GPS, LIDAR and vision cameras, it delivers precise, safe and remotely supervised operation. Two versions are available: the fully electric R4 Electric Power with a 40 kWh battery for narrow vineyards, and the R4 Hybrid Power, combining an HVO‑compatible diesel engine with electric drive for wider orchard rows. Both models feature rubber tracks, electric implement power and intelligent spraying functions, ensuring high efficiency, low emissions and reduced soil compaction. The R4 integrates seamlessly with New Holland’s autonomy tech stack, offering a scalable, future‑ready solution for specialty farming.
